About

More Than a Program, A Movement

Since 2009, CareerTrackers has been changing the face of corporate Australia. By linking First Nations university students with world-class employers with a multi-year internship program, we create a pathway to long-term success.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that every First Nations student deserves the freedom to choose their path and the opportunity to lead within it. We provide the mentorship, professional network and confidence required to navigate university and the workplace.

Today, our more than 1,600-strong alumni are proof of what happens when talent meets opportunity. We are a non-profit, Supply Nation-registered organisation committed to activating opportunities and accelerating careers.

Our Purpose:

To build a legacy of First Nations leadership, impact and opportunity

Our History

The story of CareerTrackers is one of a legacy crossing oceans to create lasting change. It began in 1970 with Frank C. Carr and the founding of INROADS, a revolutionary U.S. program inspired by Dr Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of equality that opened professional doors for thousands of minority youth.

Decades later, that same spirit took root in Australia when INROADS alumnus Michael Combs adapted the model to empower First Nations students. By bridging the gap between higher education and corporate leadership, CareerTrackers has turned a global dream of inclusion into a local reality, cultivating a new generation of Indigenous excellence and leadership.
